‘Breath (Symphony of the Senses)’ trailer

A trailer for the non-verbal feature film 'Breath (Symphony of the Senses)' -- currently in development. Breath is a mesmerising cinematic trip through three intertwined journeys -- birth to death, innocence to awakening, and planetary evolution -- and asks "are we sleepwalking through life?" Harnessing ground-breaking technology, some never before seen in cinema, this film stimulates and challenges the senses and will leave cinema audiences never quite seeing the world the same way again.

Breath looks at how environment shapes us. It presents new perspectives on landscape, from some of the most wild and remote places on Earth. From the serene and heartbreakingly beautiful, to the wild and destructive, the dramas of human life are illustrated through the metaphors of landscape and climate. The soundtrack is at the heart of this film with sound design from multi-Oscar winning Randy Thom, and an original score by Philip Clemo.

Melt

A short film made to the composition 'Surfing Dreams & Chaos', written by Ysanne Spevack and Philip Clemo. The film was produced, edited and directed by Philip Clemo and shot on full HD on location in Iceland.

The project was shot using specialist high-speed and timelapse camera technology on the ground, and from the air using an ultra-smooth gyro-stabilised camera mounted on a helicopter.The film is structured around the changing form of water: from ice, through liquid to vapour, on a glacial journey to the sea.

This journey offers a deep immersion into a world of exquisite beauty: immersion into the extraordinary patterns and abstraction found in landscape, immersion into the complex world of sound, immersion into the elemental roots of all being. It is an invitation to let go of the map, experience our planet very differently, and through that develop a deeper awareness of life itself.

The soundtrack, described as intricate, immersive in MOJO and something to dive and immerse yourself into in All Music Guide (USA), is at the heart of this film: the breath that breathes life into the imagery and the centre of the drama and dynamics.

Clemo builds complex dialogues between picture and sound and believes that the musical journeys in his films have the potential to unlock the meaning in the imagery. Ultimately he works to create a powerful synaesthesia: a symphony of the senses.
