Hier

Soon it will be past. Something, in an undeterminated moment, will be broken in me. It leaves toward unknown heights. On Earth there's nothing but the Nature, the unbearable wait and the inexpressible silence.

BEAUTIFUL EYRE

In the northern area of South Australia you'll find Lake Eyre (pronounced "air"), the lowest point of Australia at approximately 15.2 meters below sea level.

As Australia's largest Lake covering 1,349,251ha it attracts the lowest annual rainfall of the country with annual mean precipitation of about 100mm.

Named after Edward John Eyre who first sighted it in 1840 it consists of two sections: Lake Eyre North and Lake Eyre South, joined by the narrow Goyder Channel and was a permanent saline lake from 5000 to 10,000 years ago.

In the last 200 years there have been only three major floodings (when both Lakes become one) the last occurring in 1974.

Current surface water level is approximately 80% due to recent rains (the best in a decade) and water is expected to stay in Lake Eyre North till at least late 2011.

Shot from an remote location 200 kms from the nearest homestead, these pictures illustrate the cyclical nature of the Lakes weather patterns now that water has returned to this unique area of Australia surrounded by desert.

And yes, the thumbnail image has a horizon in it - that thin black line. The rest is water and sky!

Body of a Dancer

A portrait of dancer Tim Persent.

Cinematic poem brings an ode to dancers and what they are able to do with their body, by showing what our eyes normally can't see in real time.
Shot on a Phantom high-speed camera, filming over a 1000 frames a second to create ultra slow motion.
This fascinated me and I hope it will fascinate you...

A casual incident, effected by external circumstances, provides the opportunity to break out of society’s mechanized moulds.

Winter in Hell

Follow me: facebook.com/epraw - twitter.com/EnriquePacheco_

This is a 8 minutes short film, not a quick youtube video, please be patient or watch it later.

I shot this film over the course of a year. It then took me few months to edit and color grade it.

Synopsis:

Winter 2010, the stunning landscape of Iceland succumbs to the Arctic cold. Beaches and lakes get frozen, but something unexpected is going to happen... the earth shakes, warms up, and suddenly a big crack opens up at the top of the glacier Eyjafjallajokull. Lava, smoke, ash and fire come up from the depth of the earth, melting everything in its path.

Shot with the Canon 7D and 5D MarkII using Canon & Carl Zeiss lenses.

Lifetime Collective FW12

The story takes place a thousand (or so) miles from home, in Iceland, land of the never-ending night sky. A couple searches for warmth and light on an endless journey through a city and it's countryside.

Driving tirelessly through darkness in search of perfect daylight, only to watch it fade to orange and slip away again. We searched and discovered new ways to befriend this wonderful place, danced blind and drunk on the snowy streets of Reykjavik. We collaborated on the score with our friend and newest member of the collective Edo Van Breemen, who collected snippets of sound and lyrics from the landscape, transforming the entire journey into a recording studio. We worked together, played together, ate together, and (somehow) returned home together.
